Aine Tighe, we salute you.
The Leitrim county star is easily one of the most powerful and skilful ladies’ footballers around.
The former UL player is her county’s key forward, and is normally the top scorer at the end of club and county games.
Her jersey number may say 14, but the Kiltubrid Ladies player is often known to roam out around midfield.
And that’s where she started Sunday’s Connacht intermediate clash against Roscommon in Charlestown.
Tighe was in the centre of the park for the opening action of the game, when she grasped the football, sprinted away from her opposite numbers, and blasted the ball into the net and was captured by Jerome Quinn.
The goal is almost a carbon copy of the outrageous effort by Kerry senior men’s star Peter Crowley which was also scored on Sunday.
Tighe scored 4-3 in total, in the 6-8 to 5-10 win over Roscommon.
@Leitrimladypro Great win today & a cracker of a goal from @ainetighe – maith sibh! #UpLeitrim #LeitrimLadies #GAA
