Mayo's in-form forward line showed up once again in the All-Ireland final, with 11 points scored between Darragh Beirne, Ryan O'Donoghue and Kobe McDonald.
The latter didn't have his best game of the championship, scoring 0-3, but was calm and collected on the ball when it mattered most.
Taking home the Sam Maguire after 75 years will ease the pain of losing McDonald to Australia somewhat, but there are certainly those still holding out hope that he will somehow stay.
After the game, he spoke to the RTÉ panel, with Tyrone legend asking Peter Canavan posing the question everyone wanted an answer to, asking "Kobe, how is Australia going to beat this?"
McDonald cleverly swerved the question, replying: "To be honest, I'm not thinking about Australia, I'm just going to soak it all in."
