Kerry hit with massive blow as Colm Cooper injury confirmed

Patrick McCarry

Gooch looked in some discomfort on Sunday. A midweek scan has confirmed the worst.

During Kerry’s 10-point Munster final victory over Tipperary, Colm Cooper sustained some damage to his shoulder.

The county confirmed Cooper is set for a spell on the sidelines. A statement from Kerry GAA reads:

‘An MRI Scan has confirmed that Colm Cooper damaged shoulder ligaments during the Munster Football Final on Sunday last. His rehab work has started and he will resume playing in due course.’

Kerry are set to play an All-Ireland quarter final in three weeks’ time. Right now, Cooper must be listed as a serious doubt for that tie.
