Captain fantastic.
Yep, Aidan O’Shea is captaining the International Rules side that is to go to Australia.
With the event back to two tests it is expected to be one hell of a contest between the two sides and the Irish team is a strong one travelling across the globe.
There are always going to problems though, given these players are all amateurs the like of working commitments and college can get in the way.
It was previously revealed that no Dublin players would be travelling with the squad but the other All-Ireland finalists in Mayo will be well represented with Chris Barrett, Brendan Harrison, and Aidan O’Shea going as part of the squad,
All-Star nominees Niall Morgan, Kevin Feely, Paul Geaney, Niall Sludden and Enda Smith will also be going as part of the squad.
Conor McManus and Michael Murphy have also been selected for the squad to represent their country but there is no room for Brendan or Sean Murphy from Carlow as they are on stand by.
The tests are due to take place on Sunday 12 November in and Saturday 18 November.
