The GAA Hour | Hurling | Limerick dominate Galway, Clare reshuffle & the art of hooking

SportsJOE

The League of experimentation.

With another, more important league on the horizon in a couple of months, most managers are treating the Allianz Leagues with a sense of freedom and ambivalence.

They could take it or leave it. Win lose or draw, most managers come out with the same tone and the same message. There’s no point in getting carried away in February.

But it’s Limerick who are flying highest. John Kiely’s team out-muscled Galway in the Gaelic Grounds and they look a step ahead of everyone else.

Lohan’s Clare are trying a new more direct style and with Tony Kelly relocated to his best position, in midfield alongside David McInerney, there’s plenty of promise for the Banner.

Laois, Carlow and Westmeath as predicted, are struggling and Wooly, JJ and Michael Carton discuss the pros, cons and take-aways from it all.
