Roberto Wallace’s GAA career record reads one game, one victory and he got to captain his team.
The former NFL wide-receiver swapped roles with Aidan O’Shea for Breaffy, as part of this year’s #TheToughest Trade documentary, and started as captain and full-forward for the Mayo side.

The 6’4 Wallace, a former Miami Dolphin who has recorded a 40 yard dash time of 4.5 seconds, was ripping it up in training for the Mayo team earlier this week, and almost got his GAA career off to a perfect start with a goal on his debut.
HT: Breaffy 1-07 v 2-03 @ParkeKCgaa. @Roberto_Wallace had had a great chance saved and smashed the bar again! #TheToughest @AIB_GAA

Breaffy went on to win the game against Parke GAA and Wallace can retire from Gaelic football as a winning captain. Not a bad day’s work.
You can see how he got on, and how O’Shea fared at American football, when #TheToughest Trade airs next month.
