Going above and beyond.
The tradition is that the winning All-Ireland team bring the Sam Maguire or Liam McCarthy to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.
It’s great, after a late night the players get up nice and early and parade around their trophy and everyone has a great time.
Well, the Dublin squad did that and went another step further as they visited Temple Street Hospital too.
Conor McAuley and his girlfriend Kelly Paisley were in Temple Street on Monday only for the pleasant surprise of Eric Lowndes along with the Sam Maguire to be sprung upon them.
Of course, they plonked their two-month-old son right in the Sam Maguire because where else would you put him?
“Unfortunately today my poor pal had to go in temple street hospital, thankfully he is home and everything was OK!! Callum Got a great surprise when the dubs team came in with the Sam such a great thing to do and it was a great pleasure meeting Eric Lowndes,” Conor wrote on Facebook.
He wasn’t alone though, Lowndes was joined by a number of Dublin players in the visit to the hospital.
A great group of lads.
