Dublin Fire Brigade’s first-ever female Gaelic football team is set to take on An Garda Síochána in a charity match on Saturday, 21st September, marking a historic moment for the organisation.
The event, which takes place at Westmanstown Sports & Conference Centre, aims to raise funds for two significant children’s charities, Oscar’s Kids and Little Blue Heroes.
With the all-female team making its debut, the brigade plans to publicise the event widely, turning it into a major fundraising initiative.
The match will be part of a broader family fun day, featuring entertainment such as games, face painting, music, food stalls, and a raffle.
The organisers hope to create an engaging, family-friendly atmosphere to boost participation and donations.
Businesses are being invited to contribute by donating raffle prizes or providing services or vouchers to support the event.
In return, contributors will receive recognition through the fundraiser’s social media channels and other publicity outlets.
The charity match presents a unique opportunity for businesses and individuals alike to support two deserving causes while celebrating a landmark occasion for women in sports at Dublin Fire Brigade.
You can buy tickets on Eventbrite, with more information here.
The match starts at 3 pm on Saturday.
