The Irish Independent
The letters page of the broadsheet newspaper is the last place we thought we would have seen a discussion about the merits of the GAA, but there it was this morning as we drank our morning latte.
In black and white, and a little red, a brilliant analysis of why the GAA is so special, and why we should be proud to be able to see men and women play our national games each and every week.
The letter, from a Dublin supporter, was written in response to Sunday’s eight point win for Dublin over Fermanagh.
But it wasn’t a piece to gloat over another semi final spot for the Boys in Blue.
Instead, it was in praise of what we sometimes overlook in the country; what a wonderful magical sport we have right on our doorstep.
