Cork turn on the after-burners to down Dublin and continue march towards four-in-a-row

What a second half

SportsJOE

Down at half-time but Ephie Fitzgerald’s Cork side were never out of the running to progress to an incredible ninth consecutive Lidl Ladies National Football League Division 1 final.

Cork trailed by two after the first half but stormed back to a dominant victory over Dublin at St Brendan’s Park.

Cork captain Ciara O’Sullivan scored the only goal of the game but, in the early exchanges, Cork were outscored by a motivated Dublin side who led by 0-9 to 1-4 at the break.

The Rebelettes stifled their opponents from the capital to just two points in the second half, and none from play, while Cork were ruthless with 0-11 after the interval, three of which came from the boot of half-time substitute Eimear Scally.

Orla Finn was uncontainable throughout and she will be absolutely delighted with her seven-point return on the afternoon which secured Cork safe passage into the final and one step closer to a remarkable four-in-a-row with a 1-15 to 0-11 victory in Offaly.
