The provincial draws have been made for the 2023 All-Ireland senior football championship.
The Connacht draw certainly catches the eye as, with Roscommon drawn against Mayo in the quarter final, it means that either London, Sligo, New York or Leitrim will contest the provincial final and, in turn, compete in the All-Ireland rather than the Tailteann Cup. This is a great opportunity for those counties, there’s no disputing that, but it does highlight the glaring imbalance in the provincial system when there are three division one teams on one side of the draw, and three division four teams on the other.
Elsewhere, Tyrone vs Monaghan is a spicy quarter final in Ulster while Down and Donegal could also produce fireworks.
