One of the great joys in sport is finding local commentary done by proper fans of the team involved, and the Mayo men on Midwest radio did not disappoint.
X user @SeamusjKearney posted the commentary from the final few minutes of today's All-Ireland final, with the two men involved barely able to contain themselves when the final point with just 20 seconds left secured the victory.
Sit back and enjoy below.
After the game, star man Kobe McDonald summed up the win well.
He said: "To be honest with you it's impossible to put into words. We've had a tough year. A lot of the country probably wrote us off after that. It was a tough day against Roscommon. Andy's so big on trusting our process and we said at the start of the year our aim was to climb the Hogan Stand steps and to be honest it's surreal that we've managed it.
"It's very easy when every single player on the pitch and every single coaching staff gives you the license to go out and express yourself and enjoy yourself and when you're in front of 80,000 it's hard to not have a bit of fun.
"Look, to be honest I'm not thinking about Australia right now. I'm just going to soak in every minute of this. To give the people of Mayo something to celebrate, it's special.
"I know every team probably says it but we're like a family. When we're in training three days a week it's like 40 brothers. We know every single person in t"here has each other's back and whatever is being said outside the group doesn't affect us."

As far back as 2006, he was highly critical of the International Rules series, which he felt was taking away from the GAA and providing a platform for players to showcase themselves to Aussie rules teams. Kerry on verge of losing two of their best talents to AFL
Sad times. If Mayo fans think they have it bad with the departures of Kobe McDonald and Oisín Mullin to Australia, Kerry have objectively been hit worse, and it does not look to be getting any better for the Kingdom. According to a report from the Irish Examiner, U20s talents Evan Boyle and Daniel Kirby […]
