Clare senior hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald was admitted to a Dublin hospital on Wednesday morning.
The 2013 All-Ireland winning manager presented himself at a Galway clinic on Tuesday night but was transferred to the capital on Wednesday.
He is undergoing tests on a health concern, according to RTÉ.
The former goalkeeper underwent minor heart surgery in 2009 to have stents inserted into a blocked artery.
Fitzgerald’s Clare team face Galway in the All-Ireland quarter-finals on Sunday in Thurles and the management team are still hopeful the 44-year-old will be well enough to take his place on the line in Semple Stadium.
