Cian O’Sullivan opens up on the Dublin team going to Coppers after All-Ireland win

Serious craic

Playing inter-county football is hard.

It’s borderline professional at this rate, training twice a week, gym another two and diets down to every last sodium.

And that’s not to mention drinking bans, there is a perception that the Dublin players, along with every other county are deprived of a few pints for months on end as they go through the championship.

So that leaves it down to the unholiest of sessions both after the All-Ireland and, of course, Christmas.

There’s no prize for guessing where the Dublin players love to go together, Ireland’s favourite nightclub Copper Face Jacks.

When Bryan Cullen lifted the Sam Maguire back in 2011, the start of Dublin’s reign of dominance, the captain famously told supporters “See ya all in Coppers.”

One man that was playing that day and has been immovable in the Dublin lineup ever since is Cian O’Sullivan, the Kilmacud Crokes man was speaking at the launch the #AllIrelandSmiles campaign for Sensodyne and Corsodyl and revealed how the celebrations in Coppers have been going:

“I’ve been a few times, you have to go at least three times I think in the space of three days,” O’Sullivan told SportsJOE.

“It’s an aul stomping ground for the guys so you can rest assured over the next couple of weeks that you can head in there and you might bump into one of two of the lads.

“It has been great craic after the last couple of days after the final, you get to share those moments with the guys after all the hard work and sacrifice you put in the whole year, it’s very important to celebrate those moments and we’ve had a great time.”

So there you have it, fancy rubbing shoulders with some of the Dublin players over the next couple of weeks? Well, you’ll know where to find them.

Coppers

Dublin’s Cian O’Sullivan and Kerry’s Paul Geaney were on hand today to launch the #AllIrelandSmiles campaign for Sensodyne and Corsodyl.

With October being the smiliest month of the year, Sensodyne and Corsodyl have teamed up to find out which county is the smiliest county in Ireland and to offer one lucky participant a chance to win €5,000. To enter, participants have to upload a selfie showing off their smile to social media using #AllIrelandSmiles and tell us what they love about their county and why.
