“During the week we took a lot of stress.”
Kieran McGeary is having the season of his life, and has once again picked up the Man of The Match award after another dazzling display.
Tyrone caused a huge upset, beating Kerry in extra time, when many didn’t believe that the red hand county had it in them to defeat The Kingdom, particularly after the demolition they endured against them in the league.
The Ulster side have been hit with a COVID-19 outbreak that forced them to initially withdraw from the game, until the GAA gave them the two-week extension they required so they could be fit to play.
Nobody outside of the Tyrone camp knows what was going on in the last month when the outbreak happened, and nobody knew what to expect from the players coming up against Kerry.
An emotional Kieran McGeary however, did have one message he wanted to get across.
“I’m full of emotion, the boys are full of emotion. During the week we took a lot of stress.”
"They said that we wouldn't, they said that we couldn't. I tell you what, we did"

“They said that we wouldn’t, they said that we couldn’t. I tell you what, we did.
“It’s been a tough few weeks. Only those on the inside understand how tough it was but this is not just about the boys here today.
“Our backroom team are exceptional, second to none, and any one of them could lift that (Man of the Match) award for what they’ve done over the past couple of weeks.”
“Tyrone supporters, see you in two weeks time”.
