No Peter Harte and no Ryan McHugh!
Whenever that time rolls around to select the greatest fifteen footballers of the year, it’s perpetually met with a truckload of ridicule.
There’s always going to be some pissed off fans, unhappy at the fact that their favourite player was left out of the set-up.
And this year is no exception as, on Saturday night, the Sunday Game panel selected their Team of the Year.
Here’s what it looks like.

Unsurprisingly All-Ireland finalists Dublin and Mayo dominate the side but the absence of a number of big names left football fans baying for blood, or at least sending out 140-word complaints to an indifferent Twittersphere.
Peter Harte carried Tyrone to Ulster glory and this score at the very death of the final should have had him in contention for a place alone.
Surely Peter Harte has to make the team of the year @TheSundayGame #gaa

How Peter Harte hasn't got in that Team of the Year is beyond me. #expertsmearse #saturdaygame

Disappointing for Peter Harte to miss out on #TheSundayGame Team of the Year. By far the best half back in the country this year on his day.

Peter Harte not even mentioned for the half back line in the team of the year? #thesaturdaygame #clueless

How Peter Harte wasn't mentioned in RTE's Team Of The Year Is Ridiculous !

No mention of Peter Harte anywhere tonight? The bastard

Ryan McHugh’s performances for Donegal had many crying out for his inclusion but, alas, his name was also nowhere to be seen on the teamsheet.
Ryan McHugh should be on that team. Blinkered selections.

Not having Ryan McHugh in the team of the year is beyond a joke. The man should be up there for Player of the Year #gaa #SundayGame
