Zlatan Ibrahimovic trolls Hakan Calhanoglu during Milan title celebrations

Calhanoglu left Milan for rivals Inter at the start of last season

AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic was keen to remind former teammate Hakan Calhanoglu of what he had missed out on this season as he told fans to send a message to the Turkey International.

Calhanoglu swapped the red half of Milan for the blue half in the summer after his contract expired, leaving a sour taste in the mouth of Milan fans.

Upon his arrival at Inter, he burnt his bridges even further by claiming that he joined his former club’s biggest rivals as he wanted to “win something in Italy,” as per Goal.

He was right to some extent, as Inter went on to win the Coppa Italia but it seems that will be in the shadow of Millan as the Rossoneri lifted their first Serie A title since 2011. A 3-0 win away against Sassuolo on the final day confirmed that Milan would be champions, taking the title away from Inter.

To add further salt into the wounds in the build up to one of the meetings between the two earlier in the season, Calhanoglu said that Inter were a “great team” as “they often beat Milan in derbies” only to lose 2-1 to them in a defeat that ultimately cost them the title.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic Milan title

Ibrahimovic was keen to remind his ex-teammate of what he was missing out on

And during Milan’s title parade on Monday, Ibrahimovic wasn’t going to let Calhanoglu off the hook and requested that supporters send the 28-year-old a message.

Standing from the top of the bus, he said: “Send a message to Hakan [Calhanoglu]!” To which the crowd replied: “S**t!”

Once again it seems like Zlatan got the last laugh.
