WATCH: Wes Hoolahan’s Diego Maradona impression has gotten the Irish fans all very giddy

There will come a day when kids will argue who was better: Wes Hoolahan or Diego Maradona.

Some day. Maybe.

Okay, we’re perhaps stretching it just a little bit but the Irish maestro’s ball control had Dublin very excited again on Thursday night as the Norwich player twisted and turned his way around the attentions of the world champions.

Hoolahan played the game like he always does. With skill, with creativity, with bravery and he even emulated a significant move of Diego Maradona’s goal of the century when the Argentine wizard scored that wondrous individual effort against England in 1986.

But that was only against England…

Could he do it against the best team in the world like Wes Hoolahan did? He probably could but that’s besides the point.
