Wes Hoolahan proved beyond any doubt he belongs on the big stage by putting in a Man of the Match-worthy in Ireland’s 1-1 draw with Sweden.
The Dubliner gave Martin O’Neill’s side the lead just after half-time with a brilliant finish.
At times Hoolahan was the most skilful player on the pitch – a considerable feat when Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on the opposing side – and his touch never let him down.
One of Hoolahan’s best pieces of skill on the day though was this beautiful drag back on Sebastian Larsson, the Sunderland midfielder went to put pressure on the Ireland midfielder, who effortlessly glided away.
