Is there any better way to prevent a loss?
You know a goal is a rare treat when the team that conceded it tweet it out using an exclamation mark.
Sure, the tone of the punctuation is ambiguous enough. It could signify anger, shock, joy… all of the above, but we like to think the Munster men were as blown away by the goal as everyone else.
It was a very special moment, and you have to give credit where it’s due.
GOAL | @UCDAFC equalise in injury time. A bicycle kick from their goalkeeper Conor Kearns! #CCFC84

Here’s how it all played out.
UCD U19s were trailing Cork City by a solitary goal on Saturday. In the 94th minute, they were gifted one last opportunity to salvage the result with a corner kick.
So they did what any team would have done in that situation – Hail Mary, send the keeper up and hope it comes off.
Remarkably, it did.
Cork City could not get the ball clear and the ball went sailing up into the air right above Conor Kearns who made no mistake with his acrobatic effort. They may have shared the spoils, but UCD undoubtedly ‘won’ that draw.

The goal-scoring hero himself, was understandably chuffed.
Hey, Martin O’Neill’s not really blessed with an abundance of strikers. It might be worth keeping an eye on this guy’s development in front of goal.
Decent result away to Cork, nice to score a bicey in the last minute aswell, always said I was a striker😂
