Shane Long has put the football world into shock by revealing one of his biggest talents as a skilled singer and guitarist.
Long carved out a career as a successful top-flight striker, playing 344 Premier League games for Reading, West Brom, Hull City and Southampton, spanning 15 years.
The 39 year old now retired striker might fancy his chances at a second career as a musician now that he has hung up his boots.
A video has emerged of the Irish footballing legend singing Adele's "Easy On Me". Long has showcased his unique skillset ranges from crucial goals against Germany and Poland to having arguably the greatest voice we've ever heard from a sportsperson.
This isn't the first time Shane Long has flaunted his musical talents. in 2012 the West Brom striker at the time showed off his gift live on Soccer AM after being handed a guitar. The former striker went on to beautifully sing "No Woman, No Cry" by Bob Marley. (You can view his rendition below).
Long previously took centre stage at Southampton’s end of season awards in 2016 as he rocked up on stage with his guitar to sing a song he wrote to his team-mates.
Shane Long announced his retirement from football in 2024 after returning to boyhood club Reading in 2024.
The striker explained in an interview with RTE why he called quits on his playing career. Long said: "Retirement wasn’t forced on me through injury. I had a year back at Reading where it had all started. It didn’t really go to plan but I loved every minute of it."
On his future outside of football Long made it clear his future lies outside of football: "I know it won’t be in coaching or in football so I’m trying my hand at this media side of things and see how that goes!”
Could the Irishman make another shock musical cameo?
