It’s the end of an era.
For the last time, John Giles has sat alongside Liam Brady and Eamon Dunphy on the RTÉ football panel.
Two years ago, it was legendary host Bill O’Herlihy who retired and as Euro 2016 draws to a close, Giles gave his opinion as a pundit for the final time on the airwaves of the national broadcaster.
President Michael D. Higgins led the stunning tribute to the former Republic of Ireland international who has become one of the most beloved parts of RTÉ’s football coverage.
