What a moment.
Ray Houghton in ’88 and 94, Robbie Keane against Germany in ’02 and now Robbie Brady in 2016 against Italy.
The 24-year-old Dubliner has etched his name into Irish football history with a dramatic late winner in Lille, sending Ireland through to the knock-out stages of Euro 2016.
Brady ran from midfield, getting between the Italian defence and goalkeeper, and nodded Wes Hoolahan’s delicious cross into the net. A brilliant, intelligent run from the best player on the pitch and a deserved winner for Ireland.
