This makes fascinating viewing, but we dare say the players involved will regret it.
You won the first leg of Champions League knock-out game 4-0, against a side that everyone is condemning as past their best. You boast some of the most exciting and talented players in the world, including Thiago Silva, Edinson Cavani, Julian Draxler and Angel Di Maria.
You know that just scoring a single goal in the second leg means the opposition will need to score SIX. Surely you can relax a bit?
Wrong.
Four of PSG’s stars somehow agreed to sit down for dinner prior to their game at the Camp Nou and casually chat about the forthcoming encounter. Marco Verratti, Julian Draxler, Thomas Meunier and Blaise Matuidi were recorded chomping on pizza and breaking down how the match would go. All very polite, all very measured. But in hindsight, a lot of what they said is poignant for all the wrong reasons.
We’ll let you watch it at leisure, but amongst the ominous soundbites are:
“We’re gonna have to hold firm. I’m calling it. The first 20 minutes… when Neymar will have the ball and sneak in…
“I think we’ll make it, this year… We’re already 4 goals ahead, yes – 4 goals… I repeat, the first 20 minutes are important…”
Of course Luis Suarez scored within the first 2o minutes, and of course Neymar ‘sneaked in’.
And those 4 goals? Useless in the end.
This is amazing for us to watch, but retrospectively painful for those involved.
