On current form, he has a point.
Paul Merson reckons that only one player from Arsenal would start for their rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are currently second, three points ahead of Arsenal in fourth place, and appear to be the team most capable of posing any type of challenge to Chelsea in the title race.
The Gunner’s own title ambitions were effectively ended by the 3-1 defeat to Chelsea last weekend at Stamford Bridge.

A section of the Arsenal’s supporters are very unhappy with recent results and Arsene Wenger is under pressure.
However, Merson reckons the problems extend beyond the Gunners’ manager, and has criticised the quality of players at the club.
The former Arsenal midfielder claims only Alexis Sanchez would get a game for Spurs.
“I don’t know where they would be (without Alexis Sanchez),” Merson said.

“He’s their one player. I was talking to someone the other day, and I said that if you put Tottenham’s best 11 that they can get on the football pitch, and put Arsenal best 11 next to it, Sanchez is the only player that gets in to the Spurs team.
“If you go through the team, I just don’t see who else gets in. That can’t be right.”

Merson did, however, predict a 3-0 win for his former team against Hull City this weekend.
If they lose though, Merse reckons Wenger’s position is untenable.
“This is typical Arsenal. They will win 3-0, everything will be great again and Arsene Wenger will be the best manager in the world.
“The pressure is on, though, as if they lose this game I don’t see how he can keep his job. It would be that toxic that I couldn’t see him staying. Hull are doing very well but Arsenal tend to beat these teams.”
