James McClean left flag controversies behind him, last night, as he put in a solid performance down the left flank in a pre-season win over Bristol Rovers.
While Liverpool reject Rickie Lambert’s two-goal haul grabbed the headlines, Tony Pulis will be pleased with McClean’s industrious yet creative outing.
Early in the second-half, the Irish midfielder found Lambert with a superb, outside of the boot cross. The England international did the rest.
