While the Ireland captain was back in the homeland getting ready for Saturday’s clash with Scotland, some of his team-mates at LA Galaxy are continuing their season in the USL,the American version of the reserves league.
The California side’s second string were taking on the Seattle Sounders on Thursday night and went down 2-0 to the Western Conference leaders.
However the result was overshadowed by one of the most blatant red cards you’re likely to see, as Seattle’s Sergio Motta received his marching orders for a two-footed groin kick to a Galaxy player.
That kind of thing would get you sent off alright.
