VINE: Louis van Gaal delighted to beat ‘Queens Park Raisins’

Everything sounds better said in a Dutch accent

Kevin McGillicuddy

This is why the media love this man.

So he may only have the same amount of points as his predecessor David Moyes at the same stage of the season, and had Phil Jones taking corners at Loftus Road on Saturday, but the biggest problem facing Louis van Gaal clearly is his grasp of the name of the teams he’s playing every week.

The Dutchman’s post-match interviews and press conferences are viewing gold and he came out with another classic on Saturday after a 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers. Yes,R-A-N-G-E-R-S.

Not ‘Raisins’ as the Dutchman continued to say in his interview afterwards.

Maybe Harry Redknapp set him straight afterwards but we kind of hope he didn’t and we get to hear his crazy pronunciation at least once more this season, and Redknapp is probably more concerned with QPR’s ‘currant’ league position.

The Dutchman wasn’t finished there however, getting an order for coffee in during his post match media conference with assembled journalists.

At least he didn’t want any raisins in it.
