While your attention was drawn to the goalfest in Germany, or the clincal nature of Barcelona while dispatching PSG, you may have not noticed but two candidates for goal of the year was scored by Preston North End.

The League One side were taking on Notts County looking to cement their place on the second automatic promotion spot in the division.

Playing up front for the Lilywhites is Jermaine Beckford, who some football fans may remember for an incredible solo goal scored against Chelsea in 2011 while he was at Everton

Well he’s moved down a few rungs of the football league ladder since, and is currently on loan at PNE from Bolton Wanderers where he scored his 11th and 12th goals of his loan spell last night.

The first was almost Dennis Bergkamp-esque  in its execution after twenty-three minutes

However if you thought that was good then his second effort was absolutely sensational.

He links up well with midfielder Daniel Johnson in the 85th minute, with some of the best first touches we’ve seen this side of Mars, to set Beckford free on the edge of the box before he smashes home the game’s third goal.
It’s not so much a 1-2 but a 1-2-3-4

Pick it out.
