Ever since Ronaldo scooped the World Player of the Year title after Christmas it seems that his form isn’t quite where it should be. He’s not blasting in goals like he used to, and his influence in the Real Madrid team appears to be waning somewhat. One thing that isn’t on the slide though is his outrageous skill, and once again last night he showed lighting fast feet to completely bamboozle a Deportivo La Coruna defender.
Los Blancos beat their La Liga rivals 2-0 to open up a four point gap at the top of the table, thanks to a first half strike from Isco and a second half goal from Benzema.
Ronaldo may have failed to get on the scoresheet once again-the first time in a year he’s failed to score in three successive games- but he still got most of the headlines afterwards for this magical piece of trickery towards the end of the first half.
He managed to do an ‘Elastico nuts’,as he flicked the ball one way and then the other while leaving the poor defender on his knees admiring his footwork.
We don’t blame him-Ronnie’s done it to hundreds of players before and will probably do so again.
