Well this is unusual.
Normally strikers want their goalbound shots to hit the back of the net and secure their teams wins in Cup matches.
But not Charalambos Pavlidis who inexplicably saved his own strike by clearly handballing in the 1-1 draw between his Veria aide and Apollon in the Greek Cup this afternoon.
After a lovely pass through Pavlidis then struck a decent effort that the goalkeeper half-saved but the ball was still on it’s way to making it 2-1 to the hosts.
That was until Pavlidis poked his hand out to stop the ball from crossing the line properly.
We smell something very very fishy about this:

We imagine the Greek version of ‘Joe Duffy’ has lit up with complaints after this piece of self-sabotage.
