Video: Watch all 52 passes that led to Raheem Sterling’s opening goal for Liverpool last night

This goal was Bayern Munich-esque in its execution

Liverpool would be brilliant if they were to play in the Championship each week

Brendan Rodger’s side must have been looking at tonnes of videos of Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich over the last few days as they took Bournemouth apart last night in pretty spectacular fashion in the Capital One Cup quarter final.

The opening goal in their 3-1 win over the Championship leaders came from the head of Raheem Sterling which was pretty remarkable in itself. However, the real headline-grabbing aspect to it was that it took an incredible 52 passes to work it to that point, without a single interception or tackle by a Bournemouth player.

At times it was quite intricate as this graph from 101greatgoals shows:

Sterling goal 52 passes

This video shows the goal in all its glory and comes after a full two minutes of possession involving all outfield players.
