Martin and Roy take note. We could have the next great Irish midfielder on our hands.
Irish teenager Jack Byrne is making quite a name for himself with Manchester City at the moment and became top scorer in the U19 Champions League this week with his fifth goal of the competition.
The Republic of Ireland man scored the second in City’s 4-0 win over Roma last night.
The side are managed by Patrick Viera but Byrne has stolen all the headlines in a side that have scored 22 goals so far this season.
He may have No.10 on his back in the video but the Dubliner is very much a central midfielder.
Byrne has been involved with Ireland at U19 and U21 level but if his form continues maybe it’s Byrne rather than Jack Grealish that should get a chance with the senior set up under O’Neill and Keane.
We think this goal shows a little bit of the Keane class from his early years as a midfielder who had a decent eye for goal with Nottingham Forrest.
Skip to 1:24 for Byrne’s goal.
He took to Twitter last night to praise his team-mates for their performance in the win :
What a result beat Roma 4-0 great performance from all the boy and buzzing to score another goal 🙈⚽️… http://t.co/39bq795sGN

He’s not one for the future,he’s one for right now.
