VIDEO: The Ireland squad reveal why they love playing international football matches

Don't think too hard lads

Countdown to kick off starts here

Whatever about some Premier League players doing it for the cash, and not really caring too much the game, the same charge can’t be leveled at international players. Representing your country is a bloody great honour and for the majority of players it’s the peak of their careers if they are lucky enough to wear a green jersey.

We like to think that the current Irish squad doesn’t have any ‘big time charlies’ in the group and this latest video offering from the FAI goes to prove  their very simple motivation is when playing at the Aviva or away from home for the Republic of Ireland.

Players such as Robbie Keane, David Forde and Paul McShane were all asked ‘What makes the match’ and were unanimous in their answers. Even Martin O’Neill read from the clearly  prepared script. Except for Roy. Roy just couldn’t go with the flow because as well all know, the only thing that goes with the flow is dead fish. Isn’t that right Roy.

It might be a bit cheesy but hell we love cheese on a Sunday afternoon. Especially if we can smother our Polish opposition in cheese later we’ll be feckin’ thrilled.
