Deja vu for Arsene Wenger

It was always going to be a very tough task for Arsenal to try and haul back Monaco in their second leg tie in France after losing 3-1 at home last month. But they gave it a very good go, and were perhaps unlucky to not find the all important third goal after strikes from Oliver Giroud and Aaron Ramsey had put them 2-0 up to make it 3-3 on aggregate.
Afterwards Arsene Wenger said his side were the better team over two legs and should have gone through but his German centre-half disagreed.
In a refreshing;ly honest interview for a change from a Premier League footballer,the Arsenal captain Per Mertesacker admited his side played well on Tuesday, but that over the 180 minutes Monaco were worthy winners:
