Over the years, Manchester United’s various global partnership deals have seen some of their playing staff participate is some very strange promotional videos… but this one could be the weirdest one yet.
The latest teaser trailer for the new Deadpool film, sees its star, Ryan Reynolds (or at least some bloke we’re supposed to believe is Ryan Reynolds), dreaming about participating in a penalty shoot-out alongside some of the Manchester United team.
Understandably, given the nature of United’s League Cup exit at the hands of Middlesbrough earlier in the season, its all very tense as Reynolds steps up to take his spot kick.
Fortunately for him, he tucks it into the corner, prompting celebrations from the rest of the United team and a tender moment with Wayne Rooney.
United announced an association with Deadpool’s producers, 20th Century Fox on their website on Friday, so look out for some similar cameos from their players in the future.
