VIDEO: Luis Enrique denies he’s been given an ultimatum at Barcelona

Rumours of dressing room unrest has club legend under pressure

The dreaded vote of confidence could be next…

Lose one game and they call it a crisis. Well that is the expectation level at Barcelona these days and especially when you lose that game 1-0 to a Real Sociedad side managed by David Moyes after starting Lionel Messi on the bench(sorry Dave).

Well Luis Enrique today faced the media and denied that there is anything wrong at the club despite the resignations during the week of club sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta and Carlos Puyol.

That’s not to mind the continued rumours about a fall-out with Messi after the Argentine failed to show up to training on Monday.

Enrique played dumb to any discussion about his and Messi’s relationship breakdown and invoked dressing room confidentiality to conceal any truth to the rumours swirling around the club,

I do not talk about what happens in the dressing room or the training ground; what happens there, stays there.

He also denied that he has received any sort of warning from the club president despite continued unease about the lack of a spark in the team which contains Messi, Suarez and Neymar.

‘I talk to the president [a lot] but I have had no ultimatum. It would be the first time for me but, no, I have not had one, I’m sorry,’ he explained to a press room who clearly smelt blood.

It wasn’t the most convincing denial of rumour we’ve ever seen in a press conference and Enrique’s demeanour suggests that his time at Camp Nou could be ending somewhat sooner than he planned

His press conference came after the Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu called early elections to try and dampen down any talk of a crisis within the club.
