WATCH: Louis van Gaal with the longest storm-out ever moments after being booed by Old Trafford

You’d think he’d be more used to it by now.

Louis van Gaal has walked out of a few press conferences in his time but he’s also hung around the threshold of a door the odd time too.

The Manchester United manager tried to cut short another press conference on Tuesday night just to finish the season with a bang. For old times sake.

United saw off Bournemouth 3-1 in the most non-event of non-event games and, just like 2012, were pipped to the post on goal difference by Manchester City. Except this time it was nowhere near the Premier League title post.

But van Gaal didn’t like the questions over his future – which have been there all year. Asked if he was going to be at Old Trafford next season, the Dutch man’s answer was short:

“Yes, because I’ve signed a three-year contract,” he said.

Then he tried to leave. But it took a while.

“Of course [it is a setback] because our aim the first year, also the second year and also the third year shall be the Champions League, a higher level,” Louis had originally spoken about the disappointment of failing to qualify for Europe’s elite competition.

“A club like Manchester United has to play at a higher level. But there are more clubs who want to play in the Champions League as we have seen.”

The manager delivered his end-of-season address to Old Trafford after the Bournemouth game but it wasn’t received well by everyone.
