Where have you been all my life?
That is surely what Louis van Gaal was thinking after 18-year-old striker Marcus Rashford bent in a wonder goal against West Ham.
Rashford scored his sixth goal in 11 games, last night, to help United to the FA Cup semi-finals.
The result eased the pressure on Louis van Gaal after their 3-0 defeat to Tottenham, on Sunday. Post-match, van Gaal cut a cheerful figure as he looked forward to a last four clash with Everton at Wembley Stadium.
That’s not to say he went easy on every journalist:
Van Gaal asked if he had managed at Wembley. "With Holland, you should know that." His Dutch team played at White Hart Lane in 2001.

Van Gaal also revealed what was going through his head when Rashford took on a pass from Anthony Martial and bamboozled the Hammers defence. He commented:
“I was on the bench behind where he was shooting from and I saw the [top] corner of the goal. I thought ‘You have to shoot now’. And he did it.”
Rashford shot, he scored. It was enough to lure van Gaal off his bench for a celebration.
