And, on Sunday, during the Chelsea and Manchester City FA Cup clash, Lineker hilariously ribbed the pundit who pointed out a neat statistic about his managerial record in the cup: that he’s never lost.
Zero for zero. Stats are stats.
He did, however, lose in many other ways and he lost this war of words too.
Fear not though Alan. The managerial career mightn’t have done much for you but at least you can say you’ve recovered slightly better than Tim Sherwood who is still trying to find his feet in the pundit arena.
