This is just plain weird.
It’s the kind of thing you’d expect to see in a testimonial done for japes…or perhaps even in WWE. But Didier Drogba wasn’t messing when he grabbed ahold of goalkeeper Steve Clark’s leg during Montreal Impact’s game with Columbus Crew.
We’re not entirely sure what the ex-Chelsea man was playing at during the MLS clash, but he latched onto the keeper’s right calf and refused to let go in open play, eventually wrestling the confused stopper to the ground.
It may seem comical, but Clark could easily have damaged ligaments or twisted his knee during the ‘challenge’ – not that the referee seemed too perturbed. Drogba managed to walk away with nothing more than a booking…
I'm going to upload this #Drogba takedown of Steve Clark video, just in case MLS tries to disappear it later. pic.twitter.com/hhZ2q6037L
