What do you have to do to get freekick in the Bulgarian league. Quite a lot apparently. It seems that pushing your boot full force into the chest of an opponent is OK as this shocking tackle from the clash of Ludogortes and CSKA Sofia shows.
A ball lofted towards the Ludogorets’ box was cleared by Cosmin Moti, but not before he planted his studs full force into the chest of Stefan Nikolic. With the referee just feet away he saw nothing wrong with the ‘tackle’ and didn’t even blow for a free until the player was writing around in agony on the pitch and the game had to be stopped.
The sides were deadlocked at 0-0 when the incident occurred, but perhaps CSKA may not have suffered the eventual 4-0 defeat if Moti has been rightly sent off.
