It could be a major advantage
Real Madrid are set to be granted a request by UEFA which could have a say in the second leg of the Champions League semi final.
After drawing 2-2 in Germany last week it’s all to play for between Madrid and Bayern, where the winner at the Santiago Bernabeu will face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium on June 1.
Madrid are the favourites for the tournament and will be confident with the return leg at their home, especially after knocking out the holders Manchester City in the previous round.
And in an attempt to create a deafening atmosphere inside the Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid are set to close the roof of their newly renovated stadium, as revealed by Arancha Rodriquez.
Their new-look version of the Bernabeu was completed earlier this year, costing around £1.5bn. The retractable roof is the star of the show and it now looks like it’s going to get it’s first run out.
The previous knockout games against RB Leipzig and City also saw the roof closed.
