Two Leicester fans cashed out of their Leicester title bets just before the Manchester United match

Nerves

Only a spectacular collapse would stop Leicester City from winning the Premier League now.

The Foxes are eight points clear of second-placed Tottenham, who have just three games remaining. What was a 5000/1 shot at the start of the season is now all but certain to come true.

Should Spurs fail to beat Chelsea on Monday night – or fail to win any of their remaining matches – Claudio Ranieri’s men would secure arguably the most unlikely title victory in footballing history.

But even though it looks like more of a matter of when, rather than if Leicester will be crowned champions, two punters cashed out on their bets ahead of the Foxes’ trip to Old Trafford on Sunday.

Leicester captain Wes Morgan earned his side a 1-1 draw after they fell behind to an early Anthony Martial goal. But the tension was too much for two punters who cashed out on their £1 bets before kick off.

According to The Mirror Ladbrokes paid out £4,381 [€5,591] on both bets, £619 [€790] shy of the £5,000 [€6,381] they would have won if Ranieri’s men claim the unlikely title.

While we’d  hardly stick our noses up at over four grand, you have to wonder why they couldn’t just hold out for a little bit longer.
