The inclusion of the PSG defender has caused a bit of a kerfuffle
According to the good folk at Fifa, David Luiz is one of the best defenders in the world and was tonight revealed as part of the Fifpro World XI at centre-half. Let’s just let that sink in for a moment. David Luiz. Yeah, THAT David Luiz.
At the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Zurich, the PSG man was selected along with Sergio Ramos, Thiago Silva and Phillip Lahm in a back four.
Despite being an absolute calamity pretty much every time he gets near a pitch, 50,000 of the world’s professional footballers have decided he is among the best players on the planet.
Needless to say the reaction on Twitter was one of horror:
