Turkish football fans are a passionate bunch.
That is probably the most polite way we could describe them after a week of violence from fans towards officials.
Last week we brought you scenes of a linesman being attacked unawares by a Trabzonspor fan.
And over the weekend, another sickening incident saw a referee chased by a man with a wooden spoon, seriously, before being brought down to earth by a kung fu kick.
The Turkish second Division clash between Karabukspor and Elazigspor was interrupted by a manic fan deciding he would try and throw a wooden object at the referee.
One footballer from Elazigspor thought this was an outrage, and felt that instead of a Brian Clough shove/tackle to deal with the idiot, a kung fu kick was exactly what was needed to calm the situation.

To be fair, the kick did subdue the offender, who was quite possibly carted off with stud marks to the face.
Turkish football has an ongoing problem with football violence, and there’s no point denying it.
But considering the country’s elected politicians acted like this recently, can we really be surprised.
