Transfer Talk: Gareth Bale staying in Madrid but another Real star is on the way out

No way out for Welshman

Kevin McGillicuddy

He wants to stay but do Real want him to?

Poor Gareth Bale. Well he’s not poor, but you know what we mean. After a pretty horrible performance in El Clasico last Sunday, all week speculation has linked him with moves back to England or else to another club in Europe as his Madrid dream turns into a bit of a nightmare.

However, the Wales international seemingly has no intention of quitting the club, and he’s told the Daily Mail that he is happy at the La Liga side.

The 25-year old is willing to reject all offers for his services, including from Manchester United and Chelsea this summer, to stay in Spain and fight to revive his career.

Real Madrid CF v Levante UD - La Liga

With Martin Skrtel’s three game suspension, Liverpool’s defensive options will be limited over the coming weeks, and Brendan Rodgers is now looking for another centre-half this summer.

According to today’s Metro the Liverpool boss is finally set to make a bid for Schalke’s Kyriakos Papadopoulos who is currently on loan Bayer Leverkusen.

The 23-year-old could be seen to be a long term replacement for Dejan Lovren in the squad at Anfield, with the former Southampton man likely to be shipped out of the club this summer.

Olympiacos FC v FC Schalke 04 - UEFA Champions League

Dani Alves is a man in demand. The Barcelona right back  is expected to leave the club this summer but such is his reputation, even though he is 31, that there are six clubs interested in him.

According to today’s Daily Mirror Liverpool and Manchester United are to battle it out for his services with PSG, Inter Milan and Juventus also interested as well as Borussia Dortmund.

His wages could be the major stumbling block for a number of clubs, but according to reports Louis Van Gaal is willing to offer a massive wage packet to tempt him to Old Trafford

FC Barcelona v RCD Espanyol - La Liga

Aaron Lennon scored his first goal for Everton at the weekend but the club are stalling on signing the England man on a permanent deal.

His career had stagnated at White Hart Lane and despite his encouraging start to life on Merseyside, according to the Liverpool Echo there has been no discussions about making the move permanent.

The former Tottenham man is understood to be enjoying life at the club and is anxious to try and arrange a deal, but so far Roberto Martinez has given no indication he will be signing the winger full time.

Everton v Liverpool - Premier League

West Ham’s interest in Alex Song appears to have cooled recently with the club now unsure if they will sign the former Arsenal man on a permanent deal.

The Hammers form has dipped alarmingly since Christmas, and Sam Allardyce now feels that he could use the money that it would take to sign the 27-year elsewhere in his squad.

According to the Daily Mail the player earns over €100k a week  with Liverpool a club that apparently was interested in his services before the switch to London.

West Ham United v Aston Villa - Premier League

And finally Sami Khedira has admitted he will be on his way out of Real Madrid in the summer. He is quoted in the Mirror as saying “I want to find new challenges for my career and continue to grow as a player.”

This will surely cause a scramble for the 27-year-old’s services, with long time admirers Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool sure to be top of the list of suitors.
