Could this mean the end of RVP?

Manchester United’s striker problems could be about to be solved if they manage to land one of their top summer targets. Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi is a class act and is not only one of the best young players in Italy, but is also probably one of the best strikers under the age of 25 in the world. He’s long been linked with a move abroad, with Manchester United leading the chase for his signature. And with Robin Van Persie’s alarming drop in form and Falcao looks unlikely to be kept on by the club after this season, they should be in the market come the summer.

According to today’s Daily Express they may face some competition for his signature though, as Chelsea are looking for another replacement for Drogba, while Juventus may see Icardi as a long-term successor to Carlos Tevez.

FC Internazionale Milano v Bologna FC - Serie A

Chelsea must have been looking over the shoulder of Ed Woodward in recent weeks as it seems that both Manchester United and their London rivals are both interested in trying to prise away Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane from Spain too.

The France international is a versatile option at the back and could solve a number of issues for LVG in his current defence at Old Trafford. Chelsea see Varane as an option to replace John Terry as the ex-England man nears pension age.

According to the Daily Mirror the player would cost almost €35million to prise away from the Bernabeu, which spounds like a bit of a bargain to us.

FC Barcelona v Real Madrid CF - La Liga

Chelsea and PSG clash tonight in the Champions League and that will give the Paris club another chance to have a look at their number one summer signing in action – Eden Hazard.

The rumours about the Belgian wanting to head to mainland Europe just won’t go away, despite signing a new five-year deal at Chelsea just last week. According to today’s Daily Star the club are still interested in making an offer to the midfielder to test Chelsea’s resolve.

It’s unlikely that the Blues would let their most creative player leave unless for an astronomical fee or maybe in a swap deal. David Luiz back again maybe?

Chelsea v Queens Park Rangers - Premier League

Palermo man Paulo Dybala could be the next striker to land at the Emirates.

The player has been described as ‘too expensive’ for any other Italian sides by  the club president Maurizio Zamparini, which may open the door for a move to England.

According to Talksport it was believed that the 21-year-old was due to move to Napoli but he has been priced out of that move with Arsenal and Manchester City alerted to his availability for over €40million

US Citta di Palermo v SSC Napoli - Serie A

Manchester United are also looking to bring in a highly talented teenager.

Nineteen-year old Drew Lewis from Southport man has been offered a trial at Old Trafford after banging in the goals for the Conference team’s reserves this season. Yes,their reserves. He’s hit an incredible 38 goals this season so far and according to the Daily Mail will get a chance to prove his worth on the training ground for the Premier League side in the coming weeks.
