Lots of activity at Old Trafford

Will Jose regret not hanging onto the Belgian?

Everyone knows Manchester United need at least two new midfielders and it seems that the scouts at Old Trafford have turned their attention to a former Chelsea man. According to today’s Daily Express a player rejected by the Blues twice could be heading to Manchester this summer.

Winger Kevin De Bruyne joined Wolfsburg on a full time deal in January of last year after failing in two spells at Chelsea to make any significant impact.

However this season he has been one of the stars for the German outfit and with 11 goals already a bid of around €40million could tempt him away from the Bundisliga.VfL Wolfsburg v Borussia Moenchengladbach - Bundesliga

Defensive cover is something that Manchester United and Liverpool are both interested in come the summer and they could be set to battle it out for a Brazilian stopper.

According to the Daily Mirror Danilo has rejected a new contract at Porto which has alerted the Premier League rivals to his availability.

He’s also being linked with Real Madrid but he could hardly be any worse than Dejan Lovren or Chris Smalling.

If a deal to secure him at Old Trafford doesn’t work then Louis van Gaal is pleading with the club to make sure they steal Raphael Varane away from Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Real Madrid man is hot property and is expected to have a host of clubs lining up for his signature if he leaves the La Liga giants as expected this summer.

According to the Daily Express LVG is looking to spend big to ensure the defender reaches Old Trafford ahead of a destination in London with a bid in the region of €40million.

One man who could also be heading back to Old Trafford this summer might be Nani. The winger, who’s on loan at Sporting Lisbon, is keen on a return to the club despite enjoying somewhat of a revival at the moment in his native Portugal.

According to the Daily Mail Nani hasn’t spoken to LVG since his move but would still like to return to the club as he’s in contact with Ed Woodward regularly.

He’s also mentioned that he might be interested in a move to Everton, which could be bad news for Aiden McGeady.

Aaron Lennon must be happier at Everton than he let on in those famous pictures as he seems to be keen on making his loan move to the Toffees permanent. There is just one slight snag though. He’s going to cost Everton €10million and that’s a bit pricey.

According to the London Evening Standard the 27-year-old is loving life on Merseyside and is hopeful the clubs can come to an agreement in the closed season.
