Transfer Talk: Manchester United chase Dutch wonderkid as Berahino is frozen out at West Brom

How far is it from Memphis to Old Trafford?

Kevin McGillicuddy

Ryan Giggs, Ronaldo, Antonio Valencia. Who’s the the odd one out.

Two of those players are known as two of the finest wingers in Premier League history – the other isn’t. Under Louis Van Gaal, wing-play hasn’t been too much of a feature of his team’s style but that might be about to change.

According to The Express, Memphis Depay could be Manchester United’s first summer signing, with talks believed to be already underway between Old Trafford and PSV Eindhoven for the Dutch winger. United may face some competition however, with reports also suggesting that Tottenham are also interested in capturing the player for around €13million as a replacement  for Aaron ‘Happyface’ Lennon

PSV Eindhoven v Feyenoord - Eredivisie

Manchester City’s new striker Wilfried Bony has gone straight into their Champions League squad, which effectively means an end to Stevan Jovetic’s time at  the club.

According to The Times the Montenegro forward is already looking at his options having been effectively dropped for the former Swansea striker in unceremonious fashion. He now has Edin Dzeko, Sergio Aguero and Bony in front of him and realises he’s not likely to feature in the Premier League champions’s plans over the coming months

The move increases the speculation that he will head back to Italy with Juventus keen on the former Fiorentina man, who moved to England in 2013 .

Despite being linked with a move nearly every single day in January, West Brom managed to hold onto Saido Berahino and now it seems they don’t really want him around anymore.

The striker is reported to have said he wants to move onto ‘bigger things’ and Tony Pulis is not happy.

He’s been repeatedly linked with Liverpool and Tottenham, and according to reports today in the Daily Telegraph they will look to get rid of him in the summer after this latest outburst. The Mirror also reports that his teammates are so sick of him they are ignoring him at the club .

Queens Park Rangers v West Bromwich Albion - Premier League

Everton winger Kevin Mirallas is probably not even allowed take penalties in training anymore after his infamous and ridiculous attempt during the draw with West Brom last month. Many expected to see the ‘for sale’ sign put up on the Belgian by Roberto Martinez after the incident, and it seems that the midfielder will be departing Merseyside in the summer.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Mirallas says he is ‘ready for a new challenge’ and has been linked with clubs in France and Germany. Wolfsburg are believed to be top of the list of clubs interested in his services, just not his penalty taking services.

It may be Friday and we all have the Crunchie feeling but spare a though for poor Hatem Ben Arfa who it seems will be out of action until next season.

The former Newcastle winger saw his dreams of playing with Nice dashed by FIFA’s three-club rule but he was hoping to get around that by playing in the lawless MLS,which is not governed by the rule.

However according to the Daily Mail, New York City FC have no intention of signing him and he’s set for a lengthy period on the sidelines.
